Background

With nearly four decades of courtroom experience, Kevin Tompkins brings a depth of legal knowledge and practical insight to his mediation practice. Over the course of his career, he has served as lead counsel in more than 200 jury trials in Texas state and federal courts, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in matters involving personal injury, products liability, commercial litigation, and insurance disputes. His balanced perspective and trial-tested insight have earned him a reputation as a skilled and steady advocate in the courtroom.

Kevin’s litigation tenure has long emphasized the value of resolving disputes efficiently and equitably. Having tried cases in both state and federal courts across Texas, he understands the time, cost, and emotional toll litigation can take. As a mediator, Kevin draws on this background to help parties navigate complex legal and interpersonal dynamics toward practical, durable resolutions.

In 2024, Kevin shifted his focus to full-time mediation, continuing his commitment to helping parties resolve conflict outside the courtroom. Known for his thoughtful, even-tempered approach, Kevin creates space for productive conversation and principled compromise. His deep knowledge of insurance, liability, and personal injury law makes him particularly effective in cases where those issues are central.

Kevin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and graduated with honors from South Texas College of Law. He is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

During his time away from the office, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife, their adult children, and their dogs and cats. He is an avid beekeeper and has been actively engaged in the field of herpetology for many years, raising corn snakes and sharing his passion through educational herpetology shows for school districts throughout the Houston area.
